WhoIsWho
ON AN ISLAND GUEST MUSICIANS
;-)
B.J.COLE
Born on June 17, 1946, in London.
Probably one of the finest Pedal Steel Guitarist on this Island called Mother Earth.
BJ began his career 30 years ago and played with a lot of people. Take a look at his site (a link
you can find on the end of this page).
BJ began as a founder member of the British post psychedelic band Cochise* (three albums
for
United Artists). He then went on to write and record his seminal experimental album
The New Hovering Dog (United Artists 1973), which featured many of the leading British
musicians of the day, including bassist Danny Thompson, drummer Mike Giles (King Crimson) and
keyboardist Francis Monkman (Curved Air).
The ambient country piece Transparent Music (1989) & Heart of the Moment (1995),
with Gavin Harisson of
Porcupine Tree, was another solo project.
In 2000 he collaborated with electronica experimentalist and producer Luke Vibert on Stop the Panic, which intersected his shimmering guitar lines with the squelch and bop of Vibert's electronics
Los Pistoleros is his one latest band.

he doesn't like George W.Bush.
Crosby had been a member of the Byrds, Graham Nash was in the Hollies, and
Stephen Stills had been part
of Buffalo Springfield. First as a trio but they added Neil Young, also a veteran

Steve DiStanislao
Quote from David Gilmour (by Sasha Perera from www.timeoff.com 2006):
“I went with my wife Polly to a Crosby & Nash concert in London, and I thought they were singing so beautifully that I
had to ask them to be on the record,” Gilmour says of his guest vocalists. “I went backstage afterwards and had a chat
with them and asked them if I could persuade them to come down to the studio to work on the track, and they said they’d
love to. A few days later they turned up at the studio and sang, and it was magic. I’d written the song, although I
didn’t have the lyrics prepared. We did the harmony sections together in three parts, and I think it’s a really
wonderful collaboration.”
