OMG....
What a voice Olivia has, i was totally flabbergasted!
I already knew she had a great voice, but what happens here is beyond my expectations. Absolutely gorgegous. She was always a good singer, but i guess she is a serious stand in for Sharon den Adel and Annete Olson nowadays.
The album is loaded with guitar work and layers. The guitar eruptions have their peeks on "Top Of The World".
The songs on disc one are a bit dark, mysterious, more heavy sometimes, but then back to old pure days of Mostly Autumns awaking with more acoustic songs.
Iain added some old fashioned heavy keyboards to the whole disc and that is pleassant to hear.
My spine was touched more as a few times by this powerful and emotional songs, for me it all fits, the song structures, the harmonies, the ultimate spine touching voice of Olivia, guitars, keys, it all works perfectly to become Music that is able to touch you.
Apparently it seems to be a concept album about a supernatural orchestra, maybe a wink to their self?
On the second disc you can find a collection of old songs and a few new ones, performed acoustic. Some have the add from electric guitars.
Anyway this is Mostly Autumn: pure and loaded with emotions.
