"Mostly Pink had a talk with John Jowitt from the other side of the pond |
and John was well dressed as ever."
Here's one for you that my Dad taught me:
Abu Ben Adam (may his tribe increase)
Awoke one night from a deep dream of peace
And saw, within the moonlight of his room
Making it rich, like a lily in bloom
An angel writing in a book of gold.
Exceeding peace had made Abu Ben Adam bold
And to the presence in his room he said
'What writest thou?'
The vision raised its head
And with a look of all sweet accord
Answered: 'The names of those who love the Lord.
'And is mine one?' said Abu.
'Nay not so'
Replied the Angel:
Abu spoke more low But cheerily still and said
'I pray thee then
Write me as one that loves his fellow-men'
The angel wrote and vanished.
The next night It came again with awaking light
And showed the names of whom love of God had blessed.
And lo! Ben Adam's name led all the rest.

Still playing the bass or down St Andrews, watching Birmingham City FC. Or in the Plough and Harrow...

On the support shows with Ark for iQ's Are You Sitting Comfortably tour in 1989. That was the last time too, before

Some of the most wonderful moments of my life and also some of the most incredibly frustrating years
6. You're a frequently asked session musician, what was the weirdest, funniest session, tour?
I'd have to say a week of shows in England with a country rock singer from across the water, the band featuring
John Mitchell on guitar and Paul Cook on drums, about 7-8 years ago. Appallingly organised, but still fun,
culminating in a gig in Harrogate in a a stage in the window of a pub...
