Arnold Layne (the goofy, upbeat song about the guy that steals the women's underwear) the first single of Pink Floyd released in 1967... written Syd Barrett. And probably one of the finest psychedelic songs of the 1960s.

Arnold Layne is now, 2007, the new single of David Gilmour.
Recorded live in the Royal Albert Hall, May 2006, and somewhere in Europe.
There are two versions of this Syd Barrett song; one with lead vocals of David Bowie
and one with lead vocals of Richard Wright.
The third song on this single cd is Dark Globe, an Syd Barrett composition too. It marks the 40th anniversary of the original release of the single by Pink Floyd, as well as their 40th anniversary as a band.

Arnold Layne.

Arnold Layne had a strange hobby

arnoldlayne

Collecting clothes

Moonshine washing line

They suit him fine

On the wall hung a tall mirror

Distorted view, see through baby blue

Oh, Arnold Layne

It's not the same, takes two to know

Two to know, two to know

Why can't you see?

Arnold Layne, Arnold Layne, Arnold Layne, Arnold Layne

Now he's caught - a nasty sort of person.

They gave him time

Doors bang - chain gang - he hates it

Oh, Arnold Layne

It's not the same, takes two to know

Two to know, two to know

Why can't you see?

Arnold Layne, Arnold Layne, Arnold Layne, Arnold Layne

Don't do it again
