Hello,
Below a review of the most promising bands of this moment...
The Reasoning.
Their debut album ended high in my Top 3 of 2007 so I was very keen to hear this album. Matthew warned me that this new album would become heavier than their previous well-received angel, but "…I think you'll like it..." . A few songs have already been played live; "Dark Angel" indeed a bit heavier, but still melodic and fabulous, "Breaking the 4th Wall" & "Sharp Sea" were fantastic and here and there some pounding drums and breaking guitar riffs. But even for a softy like me, highly enjoyable. You can imagine how frustrated I was when my copy got lost in the canal somewhere. So I had to grab it from their merchandise table when they played at the Borderline.
If their debut album landed in the Top 3 of 2007, then this album could end in the Top 3 of this
decade… yes dear readers, this is a marvellous album and I am overwhelmed. Read more
here.
9++/10 without a doubt.
I'm allowed to give away two albums, so read the review and win.

IQ.
They will release two Limited Edition Tour CDs The new IQ studio album Frequency is scheduled to be released early next year but, to coincide with the forthcoming live dates, November will see the release of two new collectable Tour CDs. Both discs will feature about 40 minutes of exclusive material, unavailable elsewhere, including brand new recordings from the studio this year and rare archive material, stretching as far back as 1985.
Frost*.
John Jowitt of IQ is one of the driving forces of this talented bunch of people (Jem Godfrey,
John Mitchell (Arena, It Bites) & Andy Edwards (IQ)). They are working on a new album and planning a

Think i'll dropp by and meet some friends!
"Genesis: 1970-1975," a seven-CD and six-DVD box set that includes upgraded editions of all five albums the group
recorded between those years is out now. and to promote it, fans are willing to hear the latest gossips;
A reunion?!?
"We've never said never about it, you know," keyboardist Tony Banks tells. "I know Phil (Collins) would be quite happy
with the idea of just playing the drums; it would be quite fun for him. Mike (Rutherford) and I are certainly happy to do it. I know Steve (Hackett) is keen as well. I think it'd be down to Peter (Gabriel) more than anyone else."
Gabriel was actually the first to broach the idea of reuniting that Genesis lineup, initially for a handful of performances of the 1974 concept piece "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway," in 2004. He later pulled back in order to concentrate on a solo album he's still making. It did lead to Banks, Collins and Rutherford reuniting for a tour in 2007, and there are still hopes that the older roster will eventually do something together.
"It would be fun to do something like that purely for the fun of working together again and seeing where it takes you," Rutherford notes. Hackett adds that, "I think we should do this before one of us dies; we're not getting any younger, to quote one of the songs, so maybe one day it'll happen."
The highly-respected, Roxy Music guitarist Phil Manzanera, whom many of you would also have enjoyed as part of David Gilmour's touring band on his 2006 tour (and subsequent CD/DVD releases), enjoys a thriving solo career. Some of you may have heard his wonderful 2004 album, 6PM, partly on the strength of David guesting on it.
Today (November 10th) Phil releases not just one, but two new albums - "Firebird V11", an absorbing collection of new songs, and "The Music 1972 - 2008", a 2CD and 1DVD set, chock full of good stuff looking back over his impressive back catalogue.
Firebird V11 sees a team-up with drummer Charles Hayward, renowned bassist Yaron Stavi, and award-winning Polish pianist Leszek Mozdzer, who also cropped up on David Gilmour's On An Island, and played at the Gdansk concert.
Read more here, here you can find some mp3's.
Held in Cambridge, the town of Syd's birth, and, ultimately, where he spent his final days, the festival took in concert performances, a pair of exhibitions, talks, a happening, and guided tours of Cambridge and the surrounding area, and other, one-off performances, all in aid of Escape Artists, a mental health charity.
My last buy was "The Old Road" from Martin Orford, so that ended high. The Reasoning with "Dark Angel"
ended higher ;-)
